Waffles. There’s not a breakfast food that bridges the divide between childhood and adulthood more than waffles. It is perfectly sociably acceptable to love waffles when you’re 6 and 60 – therefore we’ve created this list for your consideration…for either yourself, or your children, or both.
Before I tell you where in Indianapolis you can get waffles, let me tell you our choice for BEST WAFFLE IN INDY! I have to admit, this was hard because I love Maxine’s Chicken and Waffles – but with the removal of the sweet potato waffle from the menu, the award had to go to its tie-mate Taste Café and Marketplace in SoBro. The “daily waffle” selection at Taste has never disappointed, and I highly recommend pairing the waffle, that is always giant, and often topped with fresh fruit a mile high, with a side of their delicious pommes frites….because, why not?
On the day we visited, Taste’s Daily Waffle had strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, fresh mint, and cinnamon piled on top with maple syrup on the side. The giant, delicious waffle was enough for my two hungry boys (almost 4 and almost 2) to split AND take a piece home. Waffles don’t have to be loved by everyone in your party, because Taste has a wide variety of fresh breakfast and lunch options at a moderate price-point, that all palates would enjoy.
Don’t want to go out? Make your own waffles at home! Buy (or make) waffle batter, grab the waffle maker, serve, and eat!
At last, without further ado, the top 10 list (in alphabetical order) of the best waffles in Indianapolis.
